The complaints began coming into police about 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to LAPD Officer Lilliana Preciado.
Officers from North Hollywood responded to the Home Depot lot and surrounding area on Sherman Way, just east of Lankershim Boulevard, Preciado said.
“It wasn’t a task force,” Preciado said. “It was just officers responding to citizen complaints.”
Preciado said that when LAPD Valley Traffic Division heard the radio calls from North Hollywood they joined in to stop the street racing on Sherman Way and stunt-like driving in the Home Depot lot.
Officers, she said, began stopping cars and made two misdemeanor arrests for outstanding warrants. They also issued 10 citations and impounded at least three vehicles.
